Charity description

MH100 logo
The objectives of MH100 are to celebrate the centenary of the opening of the first airfield at Martlesham Heath, capturing archives and artefacts that illustrate the technological and social changes that have shaped the area; a permanent display will be created in the restored Control Tower, which is now a local museum.

In celebrating the 100 years since the opening of the first airfield at Martlesham Heath, we are actively engaging local schools and voluntary organisations in creating displays that recount the history of the area. It is the intention to create a long-lasting display in the Martlesham Heath Control Tower, now restored and in use a local museum. Built during the Second World War, the Control Tower has very limited access for anyone with mobility difficulties. To provide access tour display for as many pole as possible and to leave a lasting benefit to the community, we will create a fund to support modifications to the tower to greatly improve access. Please donate to support our cause.
