Menuhin Competition logo
We help talented young musicians to develop into the next generation of great artists!

Dubbed 'the Olympics of the Violin', the Menuhin Competition is the world's leading international competition for young violinists, held every two years in a different world city (most recently Geneva in 2018, London in 2016, Austin, Texas in 2014, Beijing in 2012 and Oslo in 2010).

The Menuhin Competition operates without endowment or government funding. To continue our work we need your support!

The Menuhin Competition Richmond 2020 will take place from 14-24 May 2020! The most recent Competition took place in Geneva in April 2018, the Menuhin Competition's first time in Switzerland and it attracted 317 entries from the world's very best young violinists across 38 countries, with 44 being invited to participate.

With the Competition itself at its heart, each edition of the Menuhin Competition presents an 11 day festival of music, education and cultural exchange, from concerts to masterclasses, performances by the jury to educational events delivered by the competitors themselves. To find out about our events and participants please visit: http://menuhincompetition.org/

The Competition discovers, encourages and nurtures exceptionally talented young musicians under the age of 22 years of age from across the globe to develop into artists of the highest calibre. Creating a stimulating environment in which talented young violinists may learn and grow has always been and will remain at the heart of the Menuhin Competition.
