Margaret Pyke Trust

Charity description

Margaret Pyke Trust logo
We are a UK charity with 50 years’ expertise in Sexual and Reproductive
Health (SRH). We believe sexual and reproductive health and rights, including
universal access to family planning information and services, are essential for
women’s empowerment, the eradication of poverty and overcoming all other
development challenges.

Our vision is a world where everyone can decide freely, whether, when,
and how many children they want, for the benefit of all people and the planet,
by removing barriers to voluntary family planning services and focussing on
sexual and reproductive health and rights.

In the UK we are highly regarded for our family planning and SRH training
courses for doctors and nurses, and the Margaret Pyke Professor of SRH at
University College London, who we co-fund, is the UK’s only clinical academic
chair for contraceptive research.

Across the world, we work with members of our international programme,
the Population & Sustainability Network, promoting SRH information, rights
and services, implementing programmes responding to family planning needs. There
are 225 million women in developing countries who would like to delay or avoid
pregnancy, but who lack unrestricted access to family planning services, these
women are our focus.
