Macclesfield & Congleton Scouting

Charity description

Macclesfield & Congleton Scouting logo
The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

We believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing,' when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves and so we provide adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for young people aged 6-25, helping them achieve their full potential in the Scouts Movement.

Macclesfield & Congleton District Scout Council covers the towns of Macclesfield, Congleton, Bollington and Poynton and surrounding villages.

We help to raise funds for International camps and Jamborees and offer support for disadvantaged children. We provide and subsidise District events, including activity camps and hikes, sports tournaments and handicrafts.

We promote a Young Leader scheme for Explorer Scouts aged 14 -18 to develop leadership skills, enabling them to make a valuable contribution to their community and give service to others.

We also maintain our Headquarters which provides training facilities and meeting venues for all of our members.

100% of your donation will be used to fund opportunities and facilities for young people in the District.
