London Youth Choir
Our Vision is to be a truly representative youth arts organisation which enriches the cultural life of London through the pursuit of musical excellence and social change.
"The coolest choirs inside the M25"
With five choirs providing a progression pathway for over 200 young people aged 7-21, LYC is a beacon for choral excellence in the capital.
Outstanding teaching and leadership, performance opportunities in iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Glastonbury and Wembley Stadium and collaborations with professional ensembles make membership fo LYC unique.
By expanding awareness of each other's cultures and backgrounds, building empathy and understanding, music can fight ignorance and prejudice.
An important strand of our mission is our ASPIRE programme which provides bespoke singing experiences within schools in areas of high deprivation. 1000 children take part each year with teacher CPD ensuring continued activity.
Securing LYC's long-term financial future is critical if we are to realise our ambitions. We hope you will be inspired to help.
Our ambitions for the impact of our work with LYC's members don't stop when the rehearsal or performance ends. We want to inspire them to become the professional performers, passionate music teachers, committed volunteers and devoted concert-goers of tomorrow.
We are immensely proud of everything that LYC has accomplished since its founding five years ago and excited by what we have the potential to achieve.
In 2016, we launched the LYC 100 Circle to find 100 individuals who share our mission to unlock young people's potential through the power of choral singing. These generous donors pledge to give LYC a minimum of £1,500 a year for three years and, in doing so, enable us to expand our work and fulfil our vision.
We also welcome support through Friends of LYC, where donations at any level help us to provide this outstanding experience for talented young musicians in the capital.
We look forward to welcoming you as a supporter of London Youth Choir.
