Thank you for visiting our sponsorship page on MyDonate.  The aim of the Sponsorship Fund is to support concerts that are particularly expensive to perform, allowing us to include in our programmes large-scale works from the classical repertoire.

Please note that while personal details need to be provided in order for HMRC to authorise gift aid, this information will not be accessed by the Concert Society. From the Society's point of view all donations made through this MyDonate page will be anonymous.  The Name and Message boxes on the "Tell us why you're donating" page can be left blank"

The Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Concert Society was established in the 1960s to promote musical and cultural events at the Cathedral.  The Cantata Choir was founded in the same decade and some years later, in 1982, the Orchestra was formed.  Between them Orchestra and Choir perform up to twelve concerts a year featuring a wide range of music  - from classical periods to the present - with a focus on less familiar pieces including lesser known works by famous composers, contemporary compositions and specially commissioned works.  In addition the year’s programme often includes at least one well known large scale work – Monteverdi’s Vespers (2008), Haydn’s Creation (2009), Handel’s Messiah (2011 and 2014) and the Requiems of Mozart (2015), Brahms (2017) and Fauré (2018).  The objective of the Sponsorship Fund is to help secure this latter tradition.
