Charity description

Lench's Trust logo
Lench's Trust is an almshouse charity founded in 1526 by William Lench.

Over the years Lench's Trust has adapted to the needs of an ever changing society and today we provide superior sheltered accommodation throughout the City for up to 200 of our older generation who are in need.

As one of Birmingham’s oldest charities, Lench’s Trust has been fortunate down the ages to have raised sufficient funds to enable it carry out its purpose of supporting and caring for the elderly in need in the city.

Our 21st century society is ageing; there are now more people over the age of 60 than there are under 16. This trend is set to continue and will have profound implications for all of us as individuals and also for society as a whole.

For Lench’s Trust this trend means that we will face an increasing demand to care for and support an ever growing number of our older generation who are facing financial hardship or social isolation. Over the coming years the Trust will therefore be faced with the task of raising larger amounts of funding than ever before in order to expand its facilities and provide more care services to those in need.
