Learning for Life
Last year on 25th April 2015, Nepal was hit by its worst earthquake in more than 80 years. Nearly 9,000 people lost their lives, around 777,000 houses were completely destroyed, and 300,000 were damaged.
How were Learning for Life projects affected?
Learning for Life has a long history of working in Nepal, particularly in the Makwanpur District, which was hugely affected. 321 out of 521 schools in the District were destroyed or seriously damaged.
12 out of 19 of the Supplementary Education Centres established by Learning for Life and partner COSAN were destroyed in the earthquake. Children are currently still being schooled in temporary shelters, which makes learning very difficult. We need your support to help rebuild the schools in order to support the continued education of these marginalised and vulnerable children.
Please donate today and help rebuild lives.
