Lamp aims to give a voice to all people whose lives are affected by mental health.
Lamp believes in the absolute acceptance of all states of mental health. Mental health is everyone’s business, everyone has it and everyone needs to take care of it. By working together to understand the complexities of mental health, we can change attitudes and bring communities together.
One in four people in the UK experience a mental health issue each year. This impacts on individuals, families and communities. Misinformation, discrimination and stigma divides us. But by working together to understand the complexities of mental health, we can change attitudes and bring communities together, wherever we come from, whatever our background.
Lamp wants to be central to that conversation.
Lamp is an independent voluntary organisation working to promote good mental health for everyone living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We believe that if you use mental health services, you should have a say in how those services are delivered. Lamp believes that if you are caring for someone in mental distress, you should be listened to and have your needs met. Founded in 1989, Lamp has continued to be an integral part of the mental healthcare community in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We specialise in providing mental health advocacy and in consultation and development for local services. To show your support for mental health, please donate to us.
