King's Cross Community Projects

Charity description

King's Cross Community Projects logo
We are a community-based charitable trust set up to improve and protect public amenities, the environment and access to public art for the most disadvantaged people living in the King's Cross area.

Our trustees are Samir Afhim, John Ashwell, Antonia Benedek, Mike Jackson, Tobias Newlands and Will Perrin. We are managed by Sophie Talbot. We have no paid staff.

Our patch covers the area 1/2 mile from the perimeter of KX Station.

King’s Cross is often described as a fractured community, partly because we are split between the London boroughs of Camden & Islington and partly because the community has faced so many major infrastructure projects within its boundaries resulting in physical splits being created such as the canal and the stations. We remain a community even though we have to keep asserting our identity.

Our charitable objects are to

a) maintain, improve or provide public amenities;

b) preserve buildings or sites of historical or architectural importance;

c) support provision of recreational facilities for the public at large and/or
those by reasons of youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social & economic circumstances need such facilities.

Charity No: 1124925
