Kashmir Relief and Development Foundation

Charity description

Kashmir Relief and Development Foundation logo
KRDF was setup by the Late Mr Zafar Iqbal Sharif, to help the
survivors of the terrible earthquake of 8th October 2005 in Kashmir. This
disastrous earthquake was of such a magnitude, never witnessed in the history
of this region. Almost a generation of Kashmiris lost their lives, including
thousands of innocent children while studying in the schools.

KRDF is one of the first UK
registered charity organisation exclusively working in the field of providing education in Kashmir. Since this terrible
earthquake and the devastating floods, KRDF has completed the building of FIVE schools, Twelve Vocational Training Centres (VTC’s) for
women, and TEN water
project. All these projects are managed and run primarily by KRDF. This
forthcoming year, we hope to complete THREE more
Schools in the remote areas of Kashmir.
