Charity description

John Paul Jones Birthplace Museum celebrates the life of John Paul Jones, who was born in Scotland and is considered the father of the American Navy. The cottage where John Paul Jones was born in 1747 was rescued from dereliction and has been restored to how it was in his boyhood in the 1700s. The museum and visitor centre tell the story of his eventful life through displays, video presentations and a full scale reconstruction of his cabin on board his ship the 'Bonhomme Richard'.

The charitable trust that runs the museum depends on grants and donations to maintain the cottage and our collection for the benefit of future generations. As funding from public sources diminishes, we need your support to keep the museum open in future years.
