Jack Bloor Memorial Fund
Celebrating the life and passion of Jack Bloor who encouraged and inspired others to be adventurous in the outdoors.
We registered as a charity in March 2018 but started fundraising in 1985 to help young Yorkshire sports people improve a physical and/or technical skill in any recognised outdoor adventure sport (ie a sport with a National Sports Governing Body).
All the monies from the annual Jack Bloor Fell Races held on Ilkley Moor each May go to the Fund, however, we wish to raise additional sums to support more of the many quality applications received by the Fund each year
We have supported many young Yorkshire sports people, by awarding them grants to;
- improve a physical &/or technical skill in an outdoor adventure sport
- train for a major competition
- embark on a challenging expedition
- compete at an international event
- gain a qualification &/or skills through a course
Examples of outdoor adventure sports supported by the Fund include:
- Rock climbing
- Fell running
- Cycling; Cyclocross/Road/Mountain Biking
- Canoeing / Kayaking
Please support our young Yorkshire sports people.
