Charity description

Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants logo
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. The Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants is a crucial source of support and comfort for some of the most vulnerable people in London today. We rely entirely on donations to be able to fund our crucial services. Please give generously to enable asylum seekers and refugees to rebuild their lives in safety and security, at the heart of the community.

The Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants supports over 170 people every year. We work to support vulnerable people through times of transition in their lives, and our vision is to provide all refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants in London access to the services and support they need to enable them to lead full, happy, and healthy lives as part of their local community.

We provide holistic, integrated services and activities that meet the complex, interlinked, severe, and multiple needs of our clients. Our services include:
- English language classes;
- advice and support to enable people to overcome issues such as poverty, homelessness, and lack of access to healthcare;
- arts-based activities;
- crisis support;
- a safe and welcoming space.

Our work helps to reduce mental distress, improve educational and employment potential, improve independence and integration, and reduce isolation. We believe in looking after the whole person - attending to each person’s practical, emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. We work together to build a safe, positive experience of community for those who have no other sources of emotional and practical support.
