It's a complicated condition which is passed down through families and which, in severe cases, can result in stillbirth. Our vision is that every ICP baby is born safely and we exist to provide support and information to people affected by ICP, raise awareness of the condition and fund research into it.
ICP Support was started in 1991 as a support and information line by Jenny Chambers. Jenny was not diagnosed with the condition until after she had suffered a second stillbirth and because so few people had heard of it, she felt that it was vital to try and raise awareness of ICP.
Over time the name was shortened to OC Support and finally changed to ICP Support in 2013 to reflect the most commonly used scientific term for the condition.
We provide support and information to anyone affected by the condition and we achieve this through our website, supportlines and social media sites. We are also unique in that we actively recruit people to research into the condition.
But we need to ensure that all health professionals and members of the public are aware of this very complex and potentially devastating condition so we need your help to get us there!
