Thank you for visiting our profile page.

In the Parish of the Icknield Way Villages we seek to be Christ-centred and prayerful, acknowledge the authority of scripture, share fellowship, show love for others and welcome and accept all.

We are a rural community of seven villages in the very north-west corner of the Chelmsford Diocese in the deanery of Saffron Walden. The parish is close to Cambridge, sitting between the medieval market towns of Saffron Walden and Royston, with villages in both Essex and Cambridgeshire.

Our villages lie at the very centre of the Icknield Way, the oldest track in Britain and which dates from Neolithic times. In 2010, we were able to celebrate 1,000 years of worship in our parish!

Please donate to support our cause. We are as proud of our monthly all-age service, that takes place in the Church of England primary school within our benefice, as we are of the monthly communion service that takes place in one of the smallest churches of the seven – a building dating from the 11th century that has no electricity supply.

We enjoy our church life! It’s not just Sunday services but bible study groups, prayer groups, bring-and-share lunches, churchyard working parties in sun and rain, friendship, care, support and growing together in knowledge and love of God.

Full details of all that we do can be found on our web site. You can take a virtual tour of each of our churches on this website. All of this takes financial support for which we are very grateful.
