Hopton Rehab & Homing
We take in horses that have been bred and produced for a specific discipline, but are either mentally or physically no longer capable of working at that level. This gives a second chance for them to fulfil their potential in another working role, but with less pressure.
Once rehabilitated, which is some cases can take a year or two, they are then available to go to long term foster homes, where their care and wellbeing will be monitored. If those people are no longer able to keep them, they must be returned to the Charity to be re-assessed and possibly rehomed again either as ridden horses or for their retirement.
Please donate to support our cause. Our Charity undertakes to care for these horses for their rest of their lives. All homes are checked before any horse is allowed to leave, and prospective re-homers are given as much time and opportunity as they need before making a decision. Some horses may require extensive rehabilitation, such as physiotherapy, groundwork, retraining, etc. before they are fit to leave, while others just require time out in the field to settle down and relax. The Charity does not own any property and with ever increasing costs, fundraising and donations are essential to maintain its longevity and secure the future for these lovely horses.
