Home-Start Chichester & District
The charity has a team of fully trained and supported volunteers who are carefully matched with a family depending on their skills and the family’s needs. Examples of support that a volunteer may give, range from helping with menu planning for healthy eating on a budget, taking children out to play and encouraging parents to make use of local amenities such as the toy library and nurseries as well as signposting them to other support networks such as debt counselling or Citizens Advice Bureau
We maintain a team of 50 – 60 volunteers who provide a much needed support and befriending service to families who have at least one child under the age of five years. Volunteers are trained for a day a week over an 8 week period and are then matched with a family who they visit each week for a couple of hours at a time.
The more volunteers we train, the more families we can support. We are non government funded and rely on the support and generosity of people like yourself.
