Charity description

Himalayan Education Lifeline Programme logo
As our name suggests, we provide support to young people in poor communities in the Himalayas to give them a chance to complete their education and so improve their employment prospects when they leave school or college.

HELP began life in 2002. What has been achieved since then? 100 volunteer teachers have gone out on assignments to the schools we support.

With the financial help of our volunteers, and with other donated money, we’ve
built three village schools from scratch, and have contributed funds for computers and books, an IT centre and a science class-room, and a generator.

Also, 45 sponsors have been found to sponsor 52 students.

In addition to these education-related projects,we have provided £5500 for earthquake and flood relief in West Bengal, Ladakh and Uttarkhand, in areas where our school projects are based.
