Charity description

Highland Museum of Childhood Trust logo
The Highland Museum of Childhood is located in Strathpeffer’s Victorian railway station which is a listed building. Trains brought visitors to the village from as far as London in it’s heyday as a spa resort.
The museum tells the story of childhood in the Highlands looking at themes such as birth, custom and traditions, education and crofting life. There are also displays about textiles and costume, childhood treasures and toys from the past 200 years and an award-winning film, “A Century of Highland Childhood”.

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate.

The museum Trust owns the station building and grounds as well as being responsible for managing the museum. We have wide range of visitors including schools groups and children and families. We currently have plans to refurbish the museum displays and renovate and improve our gardens. These improvements will ensure that we get more of our objects out on display but also improve the interpretation and access for all our visitors.

Please donate to support our cause.
