Helping Hands Community Project
At the heart of our work is the desire to help local people in need in Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth. We offer practical support through the soup kitchen and House 2 Home project as well giving individuals the support and opportunities they need to increase motivation, self esteem and to become more effective members of our society.
We run the Leamington Soup Kitchen 3 evenings a week. This provides hot food to those who would otherwise go without & an opportunity to build trusting relationships & provide information about any extra support available to them.
Our House 2 Home project provides furniture, household goods & clothes to the recently homed & low-income families that have been referred by organisations such as children’s centres & domestic violence charities. Often people are provided with accommodation but not essentials like a fridge. Our community support us to provide these basic goods that volunteers deliver to those who need it - to help turn empty houses into homes!
An integral part of our service is to assist those in need who are motivated to improve their lives by advising who might help them. We provide support such as through our Esther Day sessions that provide a supportive & friendly environment for vulnerable women.
Helping people back into work – we have training opportunities leading to qualifications within our shop and storage facility & we are working with local businesses to give the people we support job opportunities.
