Heathfield and Waldron R.F.C. are a community amateur rugby club based in Heathfield, East Sussex. We are a wonderful, vibrant club with over 20 teams, hundreds of volunteers, male and female players from age 6 to those requiring an awful lot of candles on their birthday cakes these days. We are however, much more than a rugby club, we are a community hub bringing people, sports, good causes and social interaction together.
We have been on quite a journey since our establishment in 1979 to the thriving club that we are today. We now have over 1000 members, a well established seniors section, a growing minis and juniors group and have had the pleasure in recent years to see a ladies team added to the mix.
The backbone of the club are the army of volunteers as coaches, managers, referees, committee members and much more. Our volunteers help many other local events happen and we have supported the Heathfield Show for over 10 years.
We work extensively with local schools and share our outdoor and club house facilities with many groups. Don't be surprised to see bows and arrows on the pitches during the summer.

With the exciting growth of the club we find ourselves playing 'catch up' with the facilities and we would love your support in realising the exciting developments that we have planned.
Firstly, we are planning to develop the club house so that we can have changing facilities that reflect the volume of use at the club but also address the safeguarding needs with our growing range of users. We also plan to significantly expand the bar/function room area so that we can host yet more events.
Our training area comes under enormous pressure with the volume of use and is often out of action for many weeks over winter. Our plan is to introduce a hybrid playing surface with a borehole and irrigation system.
We are also planning to build a pavilion on our adjoining pitches providing changing, refreshment and storage areas for our rugby players and a clubhouse for the Hellingly Archers.
Finally, with all of this increased use we hope to significantly increase the parking spaces to reduce the strain locally.
Please help us and together we can make this all happen very soon.
