Charity description

Guildford County School logo
At Guildford County School, sport matters. Yet this is not reflected in our 1970s sports hall. It is not fit-for-purpose, at less than half the government-recommended minimum size, and it’s crumbling. We need a new sports hall urgently, to give our 1055 students the best sporting start in life.

We plan a new sports ‘hub’ offering a full-size sports hall, multigym and fitness area, dance studio, changing and shower facilities. This will also be a community resource to support local sports clubs and disabled, inactive and disadvantaged groups. A new sports hall at Guildford County School would benefit our students and our community daily, for generations to come.

To achieve this in today’s education funding environment, we need YOUR support to show a fit-for-purpose sports hall at Guildford County School really matters to us.

Help us to provide this vital facility for our students and community. Please donate generously now.

Guildford County School is an ‘Outstanding’ secondary Academy School in the heart of Guildford (Ofsted 2017).

The school raises much-needed funds to support its development, to offer students an experience ‘above and beyond’ what government funding alone could achieve. The school is designated a specialist music college thanks to its national reputation for excellence in music.

GCS warmly invites parents, alumni, students and community supporters to create their own fundraising challenge to support our vital 2017/2018 Sports Hall Appeal. Thank you.

Please use this site to make a donation or create a fundraising page to support our Sports Hall Appeal. Call Claudia Drake in the Sports Hall Appeal office on 01483 504 089 if you would like to discuss sponsorship opportunities, your donation or match-funding, or if you have any questions. Thank you for your support!
