Governors for Schools

Charity description

Governors for Schools logo
Governors for Schools exists to improve educational standards so that children and young people have the chance to realise their full potential. Since 2013 we have placed 10,000 volunteer governors in 6,975 schools across England.

Governors for Schools believes the key to improving school performance is strong governance. By finding, nurturing, and supporting a talented network of governors we help to drive systematic change in how schools operate. Since 1999 we’ve been connecting schools across England with skilled and committed volunteers. Each year, we place about 2,000 volunteers in c. 1,500 schools.

Your donation will help us match capable volunteers with schools that need their expertise.

“I really wanted to give back to my local community in some way and, because education is important to me, decided becoming a governor would be the perfect fit.”
Jacque Robertin, Governor at Kensington Primary School (Newnham)

“Working with Governors for Schools is effective and efficient in introducing some of the best people who have chosen to join the volunteer army of school governors. The governors we have appointed through Governors for Schools have been committed, enthusiastic and skilled.”
Sir Dan Moynihan, CEO of the Harris Federation Multi Academy Trust

Your support will make a real difference in linking excellent volunteer governors with schools that need them the most.
