Charity description

Godolphin Cross Community Association is a registered charity based in a village, with a small community of roughly 700 residents, situated in beautiful Cornwall (UK).

Our purpose as a charity is to enhance village life and community spirit. Our main task at present is to raise funds to renovate the former Chapel in Godolphin Cross.  We rely on this building as our community hub, and it is the heart of our village.

It is used by the community for a range of events such as the Scouts, Local Youth Group, WI, coffee mornings, lunch events, gardening club, evening talks and many other activities. The list is growing.

The building needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch so we can continue using it.  This will be things like roof repairs, providing access for the disabled and a new kitchen! The costs add up!

We have purchased the building for the community but we need to raise around £500,000 towards renovations.  We have already received some very generous help locally, nationally and even internationally, but there is a lot more work ahead.

Help us by donating so we can keep this little community in Cornwall alive.

We have chosen to use BT because it is a recognised company, and there are low costs to us as a charity.  The costs are 1.3% per donation on a credit card and a flat rate of 15p for debit cards. For example - a £10 donation by credit card costs us 13p, by debit card it would be 15p. However £100 by debit card still costs only 15p whereas the credit card costs £1.30. This means that for donating small amounts to us the credit card is the best option while debit cards are better for us with large sums.

We will be documenting the progress of renovating the Chapel!  If you are interested in seeing your donation being put to use and want to see the plans we have turned into a reality, please check out our website, and follow us on our social media pages:
