Generation Exchange is a new charity bringing old and young together for mutual benefit.
Generation Exchange recruits, trains and supports older people at risk of isolation and poor health to become re-integrated with their communities by taking on regular weekly volunteering opportunities in their local community helping children with reading, maths and mentoring.
Children learn new skills, confidence and self-esteem by having this weekly support, and older people gain the satisfaction of knowing that their time, skills and patience have helped a younger person take some vital first steps to building confidence.
We also provide training and support so that Sixth Formers can help older people learn how to use computers, smart phones, iPads and use skype and social media to stay in touch with friends and family.
Please donate to support our cause.
Generation Exchange was established in 2016 in order to help older people and children and young people support and learn from each other.
Older people give their time, skills and experience to help support children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with vital skills such as reading and maths.
Older people become re-engaged with their local communities by having regular weekly volunteering activities which give them a sense of satisfaction, social contact, the chance to make new friends and become less socially isolated thus improving both physical and mental health.
