Funding the ministry of the Gauzebrook Schools and Children's Worker, building a centre of excellence for training

The Rural Schools and Churches Worker has been an active role since 2011 within the eight parishes in the Gauzebrook Churches Group. The role supports these village communities so that children and young people can benefit from greater access to age-appropriate worship, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their faith and spirituality, greater opportunity to develop friendships and sharing music and food. The group has four rural primary schools. We are developing a centre of excellence for rural ministry which can reach out to offer support and training for parishes in a similar context beyond our immediate neighbourhood. As carefully sown seeds enable ‘Little Lights’ to become ‘Teenagers Of All Sorts Together’ (TOAST), young people explore their faith within a welcoming and friendly context. Children nurture friendships, ask questions and share ideas and suggestions, equipping them with the skills needed to illuminate their world as their journeys continue into adulthood.
