Friends of The Tenth is a charity registered in England & Wales dedicated to the memory of the 10th Battalion The Parachute Regiment which was destroyed during the Battle of Arnhem 1944. We are raising funds to build a commemorative sculpture on the village green in Somerby Leicestershire. This is where the battalion was billeted in 1944 prior to being dropped behind enemy lines in Holland as part of operation Market Garden. 582 men left the village and two weeks later only 36 men returned. As well as the memorial we are committed to a programme of education with schools and colleges in England and the Netherlands.
Please donate to support our cause to build a beautiful and striking commemorative sculpture to the 10th Battalion The Parachute Regiment who were destroyed in the Battle of Arnhem in 1944
