Friends of the Anglican Communion Fund

Charity description

Friends of the Anglican Communion Fund logo
The Archbishop of Canterbury’s Anglican Communion Fund (ACF), part of the Archbishop’s international ministry, provides grants to church communities across the 40 provinces of the Anglican Communion to strengthen and support the work of the church in their mission to live and share Christ's love.

The Anglican Communion is made up of 40 Provinces worldwide, the Church of England being one of them. Together, these include 85 million sisters and brothers in Christ spread over 165 counties, 80% in the Global South. Spanning six continents, we are a global family.
The ACF helps to build up the family of believers – the Church – so that it can more effectively be salt and light in its local community. Grants often support the church in the poorest and most threatened parts of the world, where many times the church is the only stable, functioning organisation, and are made in a wide variety of areas: economic empowerment, theological education, peace and reconciliation, women’s empowerment and more.
The ACF has always had an intent to give Anglican voices a ‘seat at the table’ in Global Institutions such as the United Nations, and therefore funds such Anglican representation. Wherever globally important issues are unfolding – poverty, climate change, violence against women and girls, conflict, migration and refugees – the Anglican Communion is there. We use our experience to influence global policy with an Anglican perspective.
