We support local vulnerable and disadvantaged people facing complex barriers to employment by providing secure housing, therapeutic support and work-ready training within our own small businesses to empower them with the tools to make long-term sustainable changes in their lives.
- 72% of households cannot afford market housing because rents in our city are 46% higher than the national average, climbing by roughly 11% per year.
- Brighton & Hove has the 2nd largest population of rough sleepers in the UK, second only to Westminster in London.
- As of September 2017, unemployment across Brighton & Hove and Adur & Worthing sits at 4.2% (10,700) of the working population (Nomis Statistics), this is above the South East average of 3.4%.
Our role is to empower people to focus on the opportunities before them, to cultivate their strengths and support them in making positive choices by using our own enterprises as work readiness training environments, with inbuilt therapeutic support, and access to safe and affordable housing.
