Friends First

Charity description

Friends First logo
Friends First support local adults who are disadvantaged, homeless and long term unemployed from Brighton & Hove, and the surrounding areas, to access work experiences, employment opportunities, safe communal housing, and befriending support.
Established as a charity in 2002, but with over 25 years experience supporting local people, Friends First aims to contribute toward:
  • reducing long-term unemployment
  • reducing homelessness
  • reducing social isolation
  • increasing the provision of safe supportive housing

Friends First use our own enterprises (construction, catering, cleaning, office administration) to provide work experience placements and training to our ‘trainees’, also one way to help make the charity more self-sustaining.
We work with ethical and socially minded property investors to provide access to affordable accommodation.
We train people from the local community to provide ‘in-community’ support for our beneficiaries.
We work with local business partners to open up work and employment opportunities for our ‘graduates’.
Your generous support will make a considerable difference; enabling lives to be transformed.
You can make a one-off donation or give regularly to the work of Friends First.
Regular financial support is key for Friends First to be sustainable for the long-term.
To give regularly you will need to register with mydonate (see menu-line above).
