The Fiorentini Foundation, was set up to enable and encourage less privileged, socially-excluded and underserved children to access professional arts training – developing crucial life skills; instilling them with a sense of discipline, routine and the importance of respectful boundaries, and providing employment pathways into the industry and the advancement of mainstream education.
The Fiorentini Foundation supports the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School (a not for profit organisation), which has branches in some of the most deprived areas of London, including Hackney and Tower Hamlets. Many of our beneficiaries suffer from disabilities or have chaotic home lives. Thanks to the school's agency, numerous students have had leading roles in the West End (Oliver! Matilda, Bugsy Malone), on TV (4 year contracts on EastEnders, Rev, The Revolting World of Stanley Brown, Top Boy) and in film, (Song for Marion and the BBC's Swallows and Amazons). Jermain Jackman, a former scholarship student, went on to win The Voice UK in 2014.
More than 60 children have received free or subsidised places over the past year. It is our goal to increase this to 100.
