Support Our Special Gymnasts!

Falcon Spartak, a leading champion for disability gymnastics, runs weekly sessions for young people with intellectual (learning) and physical disabilities.

Launched in the 1980s by Kay Salter, the club initially worked with young boys whose challenging behaviour at school was linked to their disabilities but soon became the home for all children with a variety of disabilities.

For decades, Falcon Spartak has encouraged disabled gymnasts of all ages and abilities to develop their skills at their own pace, in smaller groups.

Falcon Spartak Gymnastics thanks you for continuing to support our gymnasts both now and in the future.

Our club is completely self-funded and relies entirely on volunteer coaches, the goodwill of parents and kind donations. This helps the club to replace much needed special equipment required to train gymnasts in a way that benefits them the most and also gives them the opportunity to to compete in competitions, so they are honoured for their hard work and determination.

Our volunteer coaches’ work alongside some of the most profoundly disabled youngsters, creating individual activity programmes and behaviour management plans so each individual can integrate within set groups. Club members learn valuable lessons in discipline, patience and social integration.

Gymnastics can benefit young people enormously, especially those with special needs. We see huge improvements in motor skills, the ability to follow directions, and confidence as our young athletes learn to walk on the beam, jump on trampolines, hang on rings and master rhythmic, tumbling and aerobic gymnastics.

Falcon Spartak embodies the principle of inclusivity and understands the concept of development of the individual at their own level of ability – rather than pushing for elite performance. We see our club members’ blossom from timid, resistant and uncoordinated children into confident, happy youngsters with a sense of self-belief and acceptance.

Please help our young people achieve their goals now and into the future.  Thank you for all your donations to support the club!
