Epworth Old Rectory
The family home of the Wesleys - an elegant Queen Anne House built in 1709.
This was the Rectory for the parish of St. Andrew's Epworth. From 1695 to 1735 Samuel Wesley was the Rector and it was here where he, and his determined wife Susanna, brought up their ten children, including John and Charles Wesley, who went on to develop the Methodist movement. The house is an accredited museum where visitors can experience 18th century life and catch a vision of the inspiration behind the remarkable Wesley family.
