Engineers for Overseas Development (EFOD) was created in 2000, with the aim of improving public health through international partnerships in developing countries and to enhance the experience of young construction professionals. EFOD has previously sent volunteers on projects to The Gambia, Zambia and Uganda to construct hospitals, waste incinerators, pit latrines, medical centres, orphanages and mills.
EFOD's aim is to deliver projects which improve the health, hygiene, education and self-sufficiency of poverty afflicted communities in a sustainable manner.
EFOD challenges its members to undertake development projects amongst some of the poorest communities in rural Africa and provides them with an opportunity to broaden their skills and experience.
Your Support |
All proceeds from EFOD’s fundraising will go towards local labour and materials for the construction of future projects. As EFOD has no overheads or admin costs and all members are entirely self-funding, every penny you raise goes straight to Africa!
