Edington Parish Hall
The Parish Hall was built in 1885 for use as a Sunday School for the Priory Church. The hall is a great asset and has been an important part of village life for over 130 years but it is now beginning to show its age.
We are a rural community and our Parish Hall is a focal point for the village. Many groups – Parish Council, Under 5’s, Edington & District Gardening Club, Edington & Tinhead WI, TVM lunches, Edington Music Festival, Edington Arts all regularly use the hall and it is their feedback that is driving our refurbishment and development project. The hall is also used for private functions and one-off village events such as Pumpkin Day and the annual Charity Christmas Card sale and as a Polling Station.
- To alter the existing toilets to also provide disabled toilets and baby changing facilities.
- To refurbish the existing store area off the kitchen in order to extend the kitchen facilities so that the hall is more attractive to potential users
- To build a small extension at the end of the hall to provide storage for the tables and chairs.
Through continued fund raising, a village appeal and grants from The Big Lottery, Westbury Area Board and Hills Group Community Fund we have already raised just under £35,000 which will allow us to update the toilet facilities and to extend the kitchen facilities but our target is £60,000 which will allow us to complete the whole project and bring our lovely Parish Hall into the 21st century.
Please donate to help us realise our vision and make our lovely village hall accessible for all.
