Charity description

Thank you for visiting East Anglian Air Ambulance’s MyDonate page. EAAA is the charity providing a helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) for the people of East Anglia. Since our launch in 2000 we have attended over 22,000 lifesaving missions, touching the lives of many thousands of people. Our crew comprises specialist pre-hospital doctors and critical-care paramedics, operating out of two high-tech helicopters from 07:00 until 19:00 from our Norwich base and from 07:00 until 01:30 from our Cambridge base. We were the first air ambulance in the country to attend helicopter emergency medical incidents in the hours of darkness to unknown and unlit sites.

Our mission is to save lives by providing the best possible outcomes for patients who have been involved in a life-threatening or life-changing accident or medical emergency, through:
  • The combination of a quick response time, emergency clinical care on scene and quick transfer to the appropriate hospital.
  • The delivery of first aid training to communities in East Anglia to help form the chain of survival.
  • Dedicated aftercare support to help with the recovery of our patients and their families.
On average, we are called out about eight times a day across our Cambridge and Norwich bases. Our ambition is to provide a 24/7 service in the future, ensuring our critical care can be provided when people need us most, no matter what time of the day or night it is.
It cost £10.3 million to develop and deliver our life-saving service in 2016-17. This wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and support of the people of East Anglia.

Thank you – Together, we save lives!
