Charity description

Earlsdon Carnegie Community Library logo
Earlsdon Carnegie Community Library is a charity founded in 2018 to safeguard the future of our community library.  Situated at the heart of Earlsdon, the Library serves the needs of a diverse community. Our vision is to ensure the long-term, sustainable provision of library services, educational and social activities for the local community. Coventry City Council is no longer able to fully fund the library: from April 2019 the library will be entirely community-led, staffed by volunteers; and, the Council are reducing their support for running costs, aiming for the library to be financially self-sustaining.

We have nearly a hundred committed volunteers who are passionate about keeping the library as a vital community resource.  The library provides a welcoming, free-to-access space for nearly 1000 users a week and a wide range of activities for all ages.  We have extended opening hours and hope to extend further after April 2019.  With the support of our volunteers we are moving forward – fundraising, organising events, selling books - but we need your support in developing and sustaining a viable community library service.

Please donate to support our cause.
