Ear Aid Nepal
The Ear Treatment and Training Centre opened in November 2015. We help the development and equipping of this centre, including staff development. The hospital provides excellent training facilities and treatment. We want to help low income people, especially in remote areas with limited access to care. Through our network of volunteers we can provide professional advice, contacts and training. The Centre provides outpatient care, surgery, hearing tests and hearing aids. Ear disease and deafness is particularly common in Nepal and causes a great deal of suffering and disadvantage. Childhood chronic ear infection and hearing loss are frequent. we commonly see all the complications of ear infection. We offer hope and caring treatment. We daily see adults and children from remote areas who have spent years with their ear problem but had no previous opportunity for adequate care. We are now supporting the training of paramedical primary health ear care workers, who will visit rural communities and offer screening and advice. We have plans for baby hearing screening, implants and other developments. We help fund those who can least afford treatment.
