Dundee Blind & Partially Sighted Society

Charity description

Dundee Blind & Partially Sighted Society logo
Dundee Blind & Partially Sighted Society is working towards a world where all people who are blind or partially sighted enjoy the same rights, opportunities and responsibilities as everyone else.

Dundee Blind and Partially Sighted Society was founded in 1879 and is a local independent charity providing services to the citizens of Dundee. DBPSS recognises that the social activities offered are a vital lifeline to its clients, it offers them an opportunity to meet and engage with their contemporaries, participate in group outings and share experiences. Participation also helps to increase independent living skills and social interaction and for many, it gives them a focus for the day/week ahead and prevents social isolation

The social activities are offered throughout the year, these
include bingo, craft clubs, a lunch club, weekly outings and walking groups amongst others. These activities are aimed at ensuring that the clients are
able to participate in and benefit from activities similar to those enjoyed by their sighted peers.

We have our own transport system which gives a door to door service making it more convenient and easier for clients to attend.

Charity No: SC016947
