Hi. Kate here. I'm co-founder of Crisis Classroom. What does Crisis Classroom do?
- We train people who wish to volunteer as educators
- We support local and global educational projects with volunteers and resources
- We take education to people who cannot go to school.
For the past 2 years Darren and I have been using our combined skills sets to create Crisis Classroom. We have trained over 200 people who deliver life-saving and life-changing educational activities for refugees. In the street next door, in refugee camps, in spaces throughout the world. Crisis classrooms are open to everyone. A Crisis Classroom isn't just a physical space it's a philosophy. It's not what you teach, but how. It is more than just algebra and verbs, it is relearning life in another language; Crisis Classroom is education that helps you take back control and regain a sense of self so that life can begin again. So that y can say to someone in their own language, so they’ll understand that you mean it…”I will stand on my own two feet again.”
We need your continued support so that we can get teachers and resources to students who need them. Please give whatever you can. Thank you x
