Charity description

CRIBS International logo
CRIBS International is a non-profit organisation providing accommodation for perinatal refugee mums and their families.

CRIBS is currently supporting 7 families with 8 babies, 2 toddlers and 5 school aged children living in Athens, Greece. We rent and pay for the utilities of small apartments, in order to provide a safe, hygienic and warm/air conditioned home for families.

We are always in close contact with all our families. In Athens we have our own volunteer family support workers who are in regular contact with all our families. We support families in many ways, e.g. arrange for the translation of documents, make medical appointments, support families with school enrollment for children, liaise with other organisations to help families obtain cash cards.

Sally Hyman made her first volunteer trip to a Greece in March, 2016 and on her arrival home in the UK, CRIBS International was born. Since then CRIBS has fed and housed fourteen families and has been lucky to witness ten births.

This is an amazing achievement and we are very proud and happy to have grown so much. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and the families we work with.

We want to continue to support more families this coming year and we need your help to do that.

The situation in Athens has become more and more strained and we are increasingly being approached by families in desperate need of our support.
