Cheadle Animal Welfare Society

Charity description

Cheadle Animal Welfare Society logo
Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. Our Society was set up in 1968 to help abandoned and unwanted cats and dogs within Cheadle and The Staffordshire Moorlands get a second chance in life

The Society is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers and all the animals are kept at private boarding kennels and cattery as we have no facilities of our own. Help is provided for cats and dogs who are found abandoned as well as for those who are no longer able to stay with their current owners - maybe their owner has had to move into accommodation where their pet is not welcome or maybe the owner has died, or maybe the animal has outstayed its welcome. Once the animal comes into the care of the Society it is checked over by a vet, wormed, deflea'd, vaccinated and microchipped before being offered for adoption and remains in the care of the Society until the right home for that animal is found, No healthy animal is destroyed. Veterinary care is always given to animals with treatable medical problems no matter how lengthy that treatment may be. The Society receives no Government funding and relies entirely on fundraising activities and donations
