Changes Bristol

Charity description

Changes Bristol logo
Changes Bristol is a mental health charity providing Peer Support Groups for people suffering mental distress in the Bristol area.
All our services can be accessed by self referral by calling the charity or just turning up to the meetings.

Changes Bristol began running support groups in 2003 and became a registered Charity in 2007. We now run 12 support meetings across the city that run at the same time and place every week of the year.

The meetings are facilitated by people with lived experience of mental health issues ensuring a safe, empathetic and confidential place for people to talk about their problems.
Changes encourages people to make positive changes in their lives and to be able to get on with their lives despite their mental health problems.
We have a 12 Steps to Recovery programme providing a structure where people can learn from each other and challenge themselves in a supportive environment.

Our services are largely run through a network of trained volunteers. Our ethos encourages people with lived experience to help deliver our services. We see volunteering as an essential therapeutic way of improving self esteem and to help in people's recovery.
