Chance to Shine

Chance to Shine is educating thousands of children through cricket every year. In 2013 we reached our 2 millionth child and our aim, is to give every child in every school the opportunity to play competitive cricket.

The idea is simple: link cricket clubs to local primary and secondary schools, pay qualified cricket coaches to deliver cricket sessions and matches in schools, train teachers and encourage children to come and play at cricket clubs.

Launched in 2005, Chance to Shine set out to bring competitive cricket and its educational benefits to a third of state schools (6,750) and two million children by 2015. The good news is that we’ve reached these initial targets ahead of schedule.

Even better news: we have made the decision to continue running Chance to Shine, beyond 2015.

Every donation helps, however great or small. If you would like to donate monthly please make sure you register with BT MyDonate, here's a few examples of how your money will help:

£2.50 - per month pays for two children to go through the Chance to Shine programme

£50 - one-off donation pays for a fully-stocked kit bag for a state school, enabling cricket to be played by hundreds of young people for years to come

£80 - one-off donation will enable children at Great Ormond Street Hospital to play a week’s cricket both in the school and in the wards
