CDP Worldwide Gift Aid
Support the World’s First Public Sculpture conveying the transformational power of green finance in global markets.
Vision: To visually inspire the finance community and the wider public, both present and future as we seek to fully ‘green’ investments in people and planet. We also want it to be a symbol of the green finance movement, a global inspiration that can be adapted in other financial centres across across the world and be in place 200 years from now.
Make Green Finance More Visible
“We need to be confident about placing visual markers in all the financial cities of the world to make green finance more visible.” Tessa Tennant, June 28, 2018
Costs: We expect the project will cost approx. £330,000 and this will include artist commissioning, materials, installation, planning, transport, insurance, maintenance, event and fundraising costs. This will be funded by individual, philanthropic and corporate donations.
We hope to commission the artist in mid 2019 and for the sculpture to be unveiled in November 2020 in London.
Why sculpture? The transformative arc of green finance is a story that needs telling. Sculpture and the wider notion of public art is often the best way to depict & inspire others on complex notions. If we are to make green finance the powerful force it needs to be, it must become a visible part of our culture - inspiring and informing our everyday behaviour.
Governance: This is a project of CDP Worldwide (registered as a charity in England - 1122330), with strategic direction provided by a sculpture committee of green finance, sustainability and art experts, and additional expertise in public art provided by the specialist art consultancy - Modus Operandi.
Please note: Individual donations from UK tax payers are eligible for Gift Aid. Receipts will be sent to you, but it is not possible to make refunds. If for any reason the project doesn’t reach completion or surplus funds are collected, any remaining funds will be donated to a charity or charities chosen by the sculpture committee.
