Charity description

Thank you for visiting our profile page on MyDonate. Our current aim is to re-open the Waverley Viaduct in Carlisle as a footway to link Hadrian's Wall National Trail on the south bank of the River Eden with the existing public footpath No. 109080 (sometimes called The Cumbria Way on the north bank).
Please donate to support our cause.

We already have planning permission for the footpath but our eventual aim is to link the suburb of Etterby on the north bank with a foot and cycleway across the viaduct and on to the Engine Lonning path leading to the west of Carlisle. There will also be a link for commuters, walkers and disabled to the Cumberland Infirmary along the old Waverley line. Currently we are working with the City Council to obtain a Public Path Creation Order PPCO over a small strip of land descending from the viaduct on the north side as the landowner objects to the viaduct being re-opened. Full details of our current plans can be found on the following page of our website. Click the button labelled 2018 Planning Application
