Bill Tutte Memorial Fund
Please donate to support our cause. As a codebreaker at Bletchley Park during World War II, Bill Tutte cracked the German Lorenz (or Tunny) code, which was far more complex and significant than the well known Enigma code. He and his colleagues at Bletchley Park were credited with shortening the war in Europe by two or more years, saving countless lives, but for continuing Cold War security reasons he was never given any official credit or public recognition for his achievement. We intend to create a memorial to him in Newmarket, the town of his birth, and to endow a school prize fund or scholarship in his name to encourage children, especially those from humble backgrounds as Tutte himself was, to study and excel in mathematics and/or computer science.
