Belfast Philharmonic Society

Charity description

Belfast Philharmonic Society logo
Belfast Philharmonic is Northern Ireland's only symphonic choir. We meet each Wednesday
and the 100 plus members travel from across Northern Ireland to be part of the Phil tradition.
The organisation has grown and developed into a widely
renowned and revered local institution. The Phil Kids and Philharmonic Youth
Choir have also done some amazing work with our young people over the last
eight years, teaching and encouraging the next generation of choral singers.

The "Phil" is celebrating! 140 years of Music Making!
There will be an exciting and jammed packed programme of events for the 2014/15 season to mark this very special anniversary. We are very much looking to performing a specially commissioned piece at the end of the season, and without giving too much away, it will be such a fitting way to celebrate our
140 years. The choir performs at least 4 programmes per year, many alongside the Ulster Orchestra, including performances of Handel's Messiah every Christmas
since 1886!
As a registered charity, Belfast Philharmonic relies on the support of many individuals and organisations to enable us to continue our work. If you love what we do and want to help us to further develop and encourage our members both young and old, please leave a contribution. Be part of something truly wonderful that has been entertaining, enriching and educating for 140 years.
