Battle of Britain Memorial Trust
The Battle of Britain Memorial Trust works to preserve the memory of the
aircrew who defended this country against the Luftwaffe in 1940 and is
now raising funds for a new visitor/learning centre that will tell the
story of "the Few" for future generations.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Trust preserves the National Memorial to the Few at Capel-le-Ferne, Kent.
This evocative clifftop memorial is situated in the area known as Hellfire Corner, over which much of the fighting took place in 1940.
The charity is dedicated to the memory of the men Churchill referred to as 'the Few' and is determined to ensure that future generations know how vital their contribution was to the survival of the free world.
The Trust now plans to build a new visitor/learning centre at the site that will help young and old understand something of what these men - fewer than 3000 of them - went through in what was perhaps the most important battle fought by this country in the 20th century.
The Wing will not be a museum but an interactive experience that will use high tech audiovisual effects to tell the story of the Battle of Britain.
Please help make sure the bravery and sacrifice of these heroes is remembered for all time by contributing to the appeal.
