Active Communities Network

Charity description

Active Communities Network logo
Active Communities Network is a registered charity with headquarters in London and regional offices in Manchester, Havant, Belfast, Republic of Ireland and Cape Town. A sport for development charity with a mission to tackle poverty and social deprivation in the heart of the community across the UK, Ireland and on the international stage. Our mission is accomplished by delivering grassroots projects, primarily through the mediums of sport and cultural activity to help engage young people. Once engaged in our programme we continue to support and mentor each young person with the ambition to further develop their skills and progress them into education, training and employment.

As part of our commitment to developing both young people and the skills of our workforce we have developed a training curriculum which is embedded as both a UK and International offer. This is available for the sector to access as well as a wider offer to support other organisations in respect to strategic development, capacity building and project scoping and development.

Here at Active Communities Network our aim is to tackle poverty, create opportunities and inspire change with a vision of a world where everyone has the same opportunity to succeed, regardless of backgrounds. Last year, over 120,000 young people accessed our services with thousands gaining new qualifications, obtaining volunteer opportunities and moving into employment. But we have a big ambition, we want to double the number of young people we support in 2018.

With your help, we can make sure that more young people get the vital information, advice and support they need to develop and move into education, training and employment.

Together, we can make a huge difference.
